This week we focused on the following topics:
- Ledger:
- Prepared cardano-base#700 and cardano-base#701 for external review, and continued working on PRs to integrate these into both Ledger and Consensus.
- Merged cardano-ledger#6126, which allows to the Ledger to forecast the on-chain Peras parameters.
- Consensus:
- Started integrating the on-chain Peras parameteres defined on the Ledger into Consensus. This is a prerequisite for implementing the forecasting-based epoch context resolver.
- Continued evaluating options for getting all available certificates while syncing.
- Addressed review feedback and merged Peras #73 and Peras #74
- Finished internal review of the immutable certificate DB
- Network:
- Made progress on the Network side of the improved ObjectDiffusion after receiving feedback from @coot. Once this is merged, the corresponding changes needed in Consensus — approved already — would be ready to go (Peras 71 and Peras 72).
- Testnet:
- Started setting up a monorepo as an alternative, and potentially main, development environment for Peras.
- Migrated from Haskell’s testnet binary to Nickel configurations.
- Ran some promising experiments using Buck2 as the testnet build system for faster incremental builds.
- Added victoria-metrics and victoria-logs.
- Added environment variables support in cardano-testnet.
