Ouroboros Peras

This week we focused on a couple of fronts:

  • Delivered the Peras demo for June (more info here).

  • Implemented proper era-based dispatching for Peras. This constitutes the last big step of our large integration effort. While not strictly necessary for the testnet release, it prepares the ground for mainnet and allows us to remove some temporary hacks we initially introduced.

  • Integrated the initial implementation of the Peras voting thread into our main working branch.

  • Merged Peras 25.5 and Peras 26 into main after a final round of reviews.

  • Non-Peras specific: we improved the ConvertRawHash interface in Consensus to actually enforce the announced size of a block header hash.

  • Started refining the next steps to bring Peras to mainnet, following the acceptance of the Tweag Core Cardano Infrastructure: Treasury Withdrawal 2026–2027 proposal.
