This week we focused on the following topics:
- Peras design:
- Received confirmation from the TSC that using BLS crypto in tandem with an increased quorum threshold is the correct way forward for the moment.
- Consensus:
- Prepared and merged Peras 75, 76, and 77.
- Continued working on the derivation of Peras parameters from the protocol parameters in the ledger and some static configuration parameters (the security parameter
kand the active slot coefficientf). In addition, we took the chance to simplify the interface around context resolution and ticking. - Fixed a bug in how voting power is distributed among non-persistent voters.
- Started work on a PR to integrate Peras weights into the GDD.
- Network:
- Addressed @coot’s feedback in the network PR, which is now waiting for approval. Peras 71 and 72 are ready to be integrated against it.
- Started preparing some testnet experiments.
- Internal (final) PR is ready for review.
- Testnet:
- Bootstrapped cardano-kosmos, which is now the preferable testnet setup option.
- Added Grafana with dashboard visualizations from cardano-ignite.
- Fixed process-compose cleanup routines.
- Added a CI check that runs the testnet until Peras works.
- Implemented a new version of stake redistribution.
- Implemented an initial draft of Peras visualisation.
- Updated test scripts checking Peras traces to validate expected behavior in broader conditions.
