Ouroboros Peras

Weekly Report: 2026-02-20

  • Spent some time preparing an up-to-date roadmap for the rest of the project (and beyond).

  • Addressed initial feedback on the machinery needed to extract the latest round number of a Peras certificate stored on chain.

  • Addressed initial feedback on the model implementation for the committee selection scheme.

  • Made the last round of revisions requested by the Consensus team on Peras 14 (PerasVoteDB and vote aggregation logic).

  • Finished rebasing open PRs on top of ouroboros-consensus/main, and merged Peras 10, Peras 12, and Peras 13.

  • Made progress instantiating BlockSupportsPeras for the Hard Fork Combinator, where most of the remaining complexity comes from the need for inter-era handling and validation of votes and certificates.

  • Added two new metrics to the Peras parameterization dashboard to compute upper bound for the:

    • extra network bandwidth needed when Peras is enabled, and
    • extra CPU time needed when Peras is enabled.
